MontaVida is made from a blend of 75% Colombian and 25% Costa Rican beans, roasted at full medium profile. But there's more to it than a high quality bean. It is only when these beautiful, fresh, green coffee beans arrive to our specialty roaster that they begin their transformation to their wonderfully roasted, aromatic selves.

Nutrient Packed Ramon Seeds

Ramon Seeds (also known as the Maya nut), sourced from Central America, have special properties that produce a positive impact nutritionally, notably an antioxidant effect.

Ramon seeds contain important (essential) nutrients like protein, fiber and minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, copper, iron, and selenium). These healthful seeds also contain a series of powerful antioxidants, as well as vitamins A, B, C and E, which are essential in maintaining normal metabolism.

Instant Fuel Via MCT Oil

MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil improves the body's absorption and use of Vitamin E, calcium and magnesium. It also may assist you in maintaining a healthy weight. How so? MCTs are a special class of healthy fats that act like a carbohydrate, so it's processed by the body immediately instead of storing it, keeping your energy up.

Making MontaVida

To achieve its distinctive, delicious taste, the beans are roasted at very specific temperatures—between medium and light roast. At this point the beans begin to "crack," or expand and open up, in the roasting process—and here's where the magic happens.

The beans are open just enough to infuse the powerful, energizing MCT oil into the beans. At the same time, we lightly roast the nutritious Ramon Seeds. Once roasting is complete and the MCT oil is infused in the bean, the Ramon Seeds and infused coffee beans are ground together and are ready to be freshly packaged and enjoyed.
